How We Started

Women Connecting Women began as a vision in one person’s mind, a vision of what was possible. This vision was shared with a group of colleagues and the vision expanded. Each woman contributed to the vision, and each woman gave of her time to the planning to launch Women Connecting Women in January of 2005.

The basic premise of these meetings was to build a business league, that was based on a model of how women interact with one another. To honor our differences and uniqueness. To give space to build and nurture business relationships. We further facilitate this by utilizing a team approach on the board of directors and all committees. Our guidelines for team and board member decisions and interaction keep us in integrity with one another and is our model of business operation.

Women Connecting Women was specifically designed to avoid busy work, hence minimal committees. Committees are flexible and temporary, we are not here to serve committees they are here to serve us.

Each of the founders of Women Connecting Women believe that ultimately you cannot separate the business woman from the other aspects of her life, therefore we celebrate the whole women. We are women, we multitask, it is what we do, let’s celebrate this gift. It is ultimately by celebrating our gifts, that we will achieve. We achieve our best in business, in life, when we appreciate ourselves as women and accept that we can create from a feminine based business model.

It is with gratitude and appreciation that we acknowledge the founding board of Women Connecting Women: Brandon Brown, Margaret Clench, Sue-Anne MacGregor, Christine McGuire, and Loreine Smith. A special thanks to Lynda Wooding for her many contributions to the plan.

The Mission Statement that began Women Connecting Women:
